José Pablo R. Lizárraga
José Pablo has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where he graduated with Suma Cum Laude, postgraduate studies in International Strategic Scenarios by the same institution and an MBA from the University of Rochester, where he was awarded the Beta Gamma Sigma prize.
Currently he is undertaking a Master's Degree in Energy Business from the University of Tulsa. He has completed several international courses from the CWC School of Energy, including: Specialized Studies in Production Sharing Contracts, Oil & Gas Contractual Models, World Fiscal Systems for Oil and Unconventional Gas, as well as Oil Tax Regimes.
He worked at Mercer Management Consulting within the energy and operations practice, where he became Principal of the office in Mexico. In 2006 he founded Ainda Consultores, a leading energy business consulting company in Mexico specialized in the E&P sector, where he remains partner to date.In 2014, Ainda Consultores, with Jose Pablo as CEO, received the award “Empresa Mexicana del Año” (Mexican Company of the Year) granted by the Latin American Quality Institute.
In 2018 he founded a private equity fund that became listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange and raised 220 US million in serie A and 400 million in Serie B. This listed private equity fund is specialized in infrastructure and energy in Mexico. Jose Pablo fund has am strategic alliance with Goldman Sachs.
He teaches Corporate Finance at ITAM and he is the author of several specialized articles on energy that have been published in various journals, such as: Energía a Debate, ¿ Oil & Gas Review, Oil & Gas Financial Journal, The Oil & Gas Year.
José Pablo has also collaborated in the publication of various notes in both national and international media, such as Harvard Business Review (Mexican Energy Reform: First Glimpse into the Reform, September 2015) and in Oxford Energy Center. He was part of the energy editorial board of the newspaper Reforma 2014. He is also advisor to the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas for a research project in the upstream sector of Mexico.
He collaborated on the Editorial Project from the Mexican Senate: " El Desarrollo Industrial en México en el marco de la Reforma Energética 2013-2014". In addition, José Pablo is the creator and coordinator of the Executive Program in Energy Investments at ITAM.
